North Avenue Community Ambassadors are fully trained and dedicated individuals committed to the sustainable development of North Avenue. Equipped with specialized training in Trauma Informed Care, CPR and first aid, customer service, and verbal de-escalation, they serve as the bridge between local businesses, residents, and essential resources. Why do we need Ambassadors
North Avenue and Lindsay Heights are at the edge of revitilization. To realize our neighborhood’s full potential, we need a coordinated effort that addresses economic disparities, environmental challenges, and safety concerns.
Become An Ambassador
Applicants must undergo 12 hours of paid training and commit to a one-year role that includes engaging with various community stakeholders. Eligibility extends to those deeply involved in their communities, and requires a valid photo ID, Social Security Number (SSN), or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITN) for tax purpose.
What do Ambassadors do?
– Enhance Safety: Increase community safety through visible and proactive safety measures.
– Improve Physical Environment: Lead cleanup efforts and beautification projects to enhance business and neighborhood aesthetics. Stimulate Local Business Growth: Promote and support local businesses, assisting entrepreneurs and facilitating access to development resources.
– Foster Community and Safety: Build meaningful relationships with residents and business owners to understand and address community needs. Collaborate with law enforcement on safety and crime prevention.
– Connect to Resources: Guide community members to essential services and ensure ongoing support by following up.
– Drive Data-Informed Decisions: Collect feedback and collaborate with partners to ensure actions are based on real community needs and opportunities.
